This page is for little kids and big kids alike!

       Matthew 18:2-6

2And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

The Bible is full of interesting things. See if you have read and/or remember any of these interesting things in the Bible.

Do you know what a milch kine is? See if you can figure it out from 1 Samuel 6:7

We've all seen the paintings of the lion laying beside a lamb. Do you know where in the Bible the verse is found that says "the lion shall lie down with the lamb?"

We've all heard the story of David and Goliath. Do you know how tall Goliath was?

For the answer see 1 Samuel 17:4 (1 cubit equals 18 inches and a span equals 9 inches)

Do you know there were other giants mentioned in the Bible? If we can use the size of his bed as an indicator there was at least one taller than Goliath. See Deuteronomy 3:11 and figure out how much taller he was. This guy was huge! More than twice as tall as the average man today!

Do you know there is even mention of a giant with six fingers and six toes! Take a look in 2 Samuel 21:20 to read about this man of great stature.

Six toes? How about four feet!!!

This is Heidi; one of God's "peculiar people."

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (1 Peter 2:9)

In the Bible "peculiar people" means a people belonging to God only, or of God.

Who was one of the smallest men mentioned in the Bible? (Luke 19:2-3)

Do you know why Samson had long hair? No, the answer is not "because he never cut it." For the correct answer see Judges 13, especially verse 5. For more understanding on this subject read the book of Numbers chapter 6.

Do you know what the new testament says about men having long hair today? Take a look in 1 Corinthians chapter 11 verse 14. Read verse 15 also and see what it says about the woman's hair.

What about Nazarites today? See Lamentations 4:7 and 8.

A vow is a serious thing. You must be careful what vows you make, and then honor them. Did you read about the man who vowed to sacrifice his daughter as a burnt offering? (Judges 11:30 -40) Marriage vows are serious too!

Do you know who the first married couple were in the Bible? (Genesis 4:1)

Who married them? The same who marries people today! (Matthew 19:6)

Did you find that verse yet about "the lion shall lie down with the lamb? Quit looking,

it's not in the Bible!

       Mark 10:13-16

13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

                 Popsicle Time!

How is the man named Jacob related to the man named Israel? See the book of Genesis 35:10 for the answer.

Did you know that the old testament was written in Hebrew; and the new testament was written in Greek? That is why some of the names are different between the old and new testament. For an example compare Matthew 4:14-16 with Isaiah 9:1-2. Isaiah and Esaias are one and the same! See also Acts 13:6-9.

Two men in the Bible never suffered death, but instead they were "taken up" by the Lord. Do you know who these two men were? (Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5; 2 Kings 2:11)

A prophet saw one of these men "go up" to God. Later a group of children mocked him and taunted him with the words; "Go up, thou bald head." Do you know what became of these children? Read 2 Kings 2:23 and 24 to find out why you should never mock a man of God.

Did you know that "bald" can also mean "white?" Think about it; are bald eagles really bald? Is a pie bald horse really bald? Is a black baldy cow really bald? The prophet however probably really was bald; as in no hair!

On our "PHOTOS" page there is a "Remember When" section. There is a picture of a man with a beard  and below the photo are the initials D. S. W. Ask your parents if they know who that man is. Do you know who he is? I'll tell you who he is. That is Daniel S. Warner. (Ask your parents if they know what the middle initial stands for; it stands for Sidney) D.S. Warner was an early Church of God preacher. He also wrote several songs that are sung in church services such as; The Church Triumphant, Brighter Days are Sweetly Dawning, I Know My Name is There, River of Peace, In the Light of God, Reigning in this Life, The Shield of Faith, and many others.

His second wife divorced him in 1890 and in 1893 she died of typhoid fever. He married again in 1893. He conducted evangelistic tours as far west as California. He died in 1895.

In his life time the typewriter was patented, the sewing machine was patented, the Jesse James Gang attacked a train and killed 120 people, President Lincoln was assassinated, the last Shogun of Japan resigned, Yellowstone became a national park, the first telephone call was made, George Armstrong Custer was killed in the battle of the Little Bighorn, Edison patented the first incandescent lamp, Kellogg's Corn Flakes were patented, first successful gasoline driven car was patented, the Eiffel tower opened, and 16 days after his death, the world's first movie theatre opened .

                                     Sisters in Christ

Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. (1 Timothy 5:1 and 2)
