Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,
in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
The Church of God at Hamilton believes the following biblical truths
pertaining to the church.
Jesus commissioned it (Matthew 16:18)
Jesus is the foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11)
Jesus is the chief corner stone (Ephesians 2:20)
Apostles, prophets, and Paul laid the foundation (1 Corinthians 3:10;
Ephesians 2:20)
God purchased it (John 3:16; Acts 20:28)
We are laborers on it with God (1 Corinthians 3:9)
We are the temple of it (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; Ephesians 2:22)
It is a holy church (1 Corinthians 3:17; Romans 12:1; Ephesians 2:21)
Men continue to build upon it (1Corinthians 3:10-14)
It continues to grow (Ephesians 2:21; 1 Peter 2:5)
All are invited to partake (Revelation 22:17)
There is only body and one church (1 Corinthians 12:12-20; Ephesians 1:22;
4:4; Colossians 1:24)
God admits her members (1 Corinthians 12:12-20)
Sin puts you out of it (Exodus 32:33; Romans 11:22; Hebrews 10:29)
Christ governs it (Isaiah 9:6; Ephesians 1:22-23)
God sets the members in place (Jeremiah 3:15; Acts 20:28; 1 Corinthians
12:18)
Only the saved are members (Acts 2:47; 1 Corinthians 1:2)
Final rewards (Revelation 20:12-15; 21:3-4; 22:14)
The church has a name (Ephesians 3:14-15; Acts 20:28)
The biblical name of the church is; the Church of God (Acts 20:28; 1
Corinthians 1:2; 10:32; 11:22; 15:9; 2 Corinthians 1:1; Galatians 1:13;
Ephesians 3:14-15; 1 Timothy 3:5)
In the Geneva Bible "Church of God" is spelled with a capital
"C". One body only needs one name or it would lead to confusion. God
is not the author of confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33) ("All churches of the saints" in 1 Corinthians 14:33 is all the
congregations of the Church of God.) Think of the confusion it would
cause if you were called by many different names.
Which church are you in?
